POLYVINYLCHLORID™ – MOSES & TAPS™

The German trainwriting duo MOSES and TAPS managed to transform the essence of their countless and ongoing activities on national and international trains (and trucks) into the gallery context. With the POLYVINYLCHLORID™ exhibition at Galerie Henseler in Munich which ran until May 2026 and its accompanying catalogue the spotlight has been put on a supposedly less interesting field: freight trains.

Since 2011, after the release of their first book, both writers focused more on the back then niche genre of graffiti writing to surprisingly find new joy to paint industrial trains that travel the whole continent. With the SHIMMS™, FLICKWERK™, SHRINNK™ and ZETTELHALTER™ series they also transferred these works into the white cube.

The catalogue shows gallery and atelier views, the original pieces and throw-up works on cargo cars in mostly exclusive daytime shots and also includes small anecdotes by both writers. Art historian and curator Christoph Platz-Gallus added introductory words about the PVC surface on which both writers seem to work most often.

The 80-paged softcover has a structured cover, comes with an individual numbered book cover and has been signed by MOSES & TAPS™. A photo print has also been added to the exhibition catalogue which is limited to 300 copies.
